AT THE BUTCHER'S COUNTER CUTS FOR EVERY DAY OR ANY SPECIAL OCCASTION

Beef and lamb are from Highfields Farm in East Sussex. Our beef is aged traditionally, for 21 days. All our meat and poultry are chosen with care from hand-picked farms to provide the best of English produce.

Our free-range East Anglia chickens are reared to the strictest RSPCA regimes in well-aired barns and open space. They feed on grain, free of antibiotics, steroids, hormones, or animal by-products.

Pork is from stock bred and raised outdoors on farms in Southern England, following the highest English health and hygiene standards, as demonstrated by Jamie Oliver on TV. All our game is hung and aged correctly to your choice. Pheasant, partridge, and rabbit are from South-Eastern estates and grouse from moors in Yorkshire and Scotland. In season we stock wild Mallard shot in Sussex.

Venison is from wild herds that graze in open parkland on an East Sussex estate. Ducks are reared with care in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, with access to water pools, protected from predators, and sleeping on fresh straw. They eat local wheat and their feed is free of additives and bonemeal.

Turkeys – Devon pure bronze or Attenborough whites – are raised in Sussex under exacting RSPCA welfare conditions. Meat and poultry is prepared to a very high standard in both English and French cuts. The butchers can offer the best advice on seasonal highlights and the quality of specific products, to help customers to choose.
